Bone age - differing results
Jun. 7th, 2005   10:05pm

My son’s bone age results just came back and I am a bit perplexed. His chronological age is 6 (turning 7 at the end of the month). His wrist bone age is 6 (progressing fine from last year’s bone age of 5). But his hand bone age is 9 (advancing rapidly from last year’s bone age of 6).

I know the xrays are very subjective - different docs can interpret them differently - but the same doc read his wrist and hand (also the same doc from last year)

His levels have been pretty good all year.

Has anything similiar ever happened to anyone? Some bones maturing significantly faster than others?
