I wouldn’t tell them either.  I’m sure now that you grandchild is being well managed, he probably wouldn’t get sick any more often than any other nonCAH child.   If you do have to take an excessive number of days, I do think its fair that you not be paid for the excessive days taken off, however you would be surprised how understanding some employers can be!
