The need for water
Jun. 10th, 2005   2:22pm

Lisa,

I have 2 girls with ssw cah.  I try to keep them very hydrated during the day.  But they are very thirsty on some days.  I never withhold water from them.  Your counselor may be suggesting that your daughter is manipulating you to avoid bed time by asking for a drink of water.  BUT, in my opinion, give her a drink and send her back to bed with a kiss.  We were called by the school this past week because our 7 year old was asking for "excessive amounts of salt".  On a hunch we had her blood taken and it turns out she was starting to become dehydrated and needs her florinef increased.  The school didn’t quite understand but we did.  That is the important thing.  Follow your instincts!  And like someone else had sugggested, have the endo call the counselor and explain things or get a new counselor.  Best of luck to you!
