Chris DSally,
We have been using circadian dosing for a couple of years now with great results. My son, nearly 7 now, has always had good height growth but we have struggled with weight. He does very well on this type of dosing.
We follow the Moeller study’s recommendation for timing and % of doses. This dosing schedule works very well to mimic the body’s natural hormonal flucuations. For example, people without CAH have nearly undectable levels of cortisol by late evening. To me it makes sense then to not give Cortef after 5 pm.
About a month ago, someone posted asking for dosing schedules. I’ve pasted my reply reference to the Moeller info in archives. Hope it helps.
info to find Moeller circadian dosing schedule in archived posts
May. 3rd, 2005 10:26pmI have some of the abstracts but can’t figure out how to post them. I can, hopefully, direct you to them in the archives.
Go to the Archives tab at the top of the main page. Look for 2 threads 2002. The first thread was posted on 1/6/02 at 10:41pm. It is titled "Here that graph is again" by Val.
The second thread was posted on 9/14/02 at 8:10 pm. Jill T started the thread with a message titled "Cortisol circadian rythmn dosing - percentages of doses used by Moeller." If you look at this thread, be sure to read further posts because the second post by Anne Marie clarifies the dosing schedule as 33%, 30%, 22%, 15%.
Hope that helps.
