We had no lapse in coverage but bluecross of CA turned down my daughter. Our coverage was a group coverage through my work. So apparently this doe not count when trying to get an individual plan. Anyway, it forced me back to teaching for the government when I wanted to start a preschool in our area which is desperately needed. Good luck. Julia
