re: DNA testing

I would do the test simply if it is free to you now because it might cost him something later as in $ and time that he may or may not have then.   Now that they know yours and your husbands type, then his should be easier to locate and he will know when/if he gets married someday exactly what to look for as far as his part in the DNA.  If they add his type to the data bank too, then statistical studies can be updated as far as research goes too. All the way around, I think it is a good idea.

Too be totally honest, I often think if it isn’t a good idea to be "on the rolls" as far as having your DNA done because if there ever comes a time where there is a cure to be had, your childs name is on that roll and it might be what they go by to accept people at first or if you already have the paperwork they would need at hand you might get in quicker.  Just a thought.

Both my husband and I had types outside of the top 95 percent that they had to sequence.  I am glad people have their DNA done because they might not have known what to look for at all had there been nothing to base it on!
