Congratulations on the birth of your son, Im sure he is beautiful.  I have a five year old daughter with SWCAH. She was verilized at birth and that was how we found out. We had never heard of CAH. Later on we did find out that my husband has a cousin with CAH. After talking with my doctor he mentioned that many many many years ago, before newborn testing, girls were of course easier to spot because of the ambiguous genitalia. Boys on the other hand was another story. It rang a bell for me my grand mother had 13 kids but all of the boys died at an early age, only one lived to the age of two. No one knew why. If they had CAH, and were not beign treated they probably went into crisis. But, back then it was thought to be SIDS. My daughter is very healthy and we live in Texas also (Austin) as a matter of fact Stephanie from a previous post refered me to our current Pedi-endo and he is wonderful. Thanks Stephanie!!!!!
