Hi Lynn,

My girlfriend has 3-Beta Hydroxysteroid Dehydrogenase Deficiency and has also been diagnosed with Polycystic Ovary Disease. She had a thyroid test recently and they found nothing but she’s always been overweight, even as a young child. Her genitalia are normal, so she has not had any surgeries. However, she has developed problems with kidney stones and had her gall bladder taken out a few years ago (I’m not sure when, I didn’t know her then).

Anyway, she has been complaining a lot about joint pain, mostly her knees. She’s been to the doctor and he said he can’t be sure if it’s her weight, her condition, or a combination of the two. She is 5’0" and over 200lbs. (She’d kill me if she knew I wrote that about her so I won’t use her name!)

Have you been to a doctor about the pain?
