Is there any other "Medic Alert" program out there in U.S. ?

We have always used the "Medic Alert" program for my daughter’s medic alert bracelets or necklaces. They have a really nice program that keeps a record of all her medicines, and even one’s she is allergic to. On her medic alert necklace gives a number with of course what she needs briefly. The medics call that 1-800 number and the Medic Alert company gives them all the info. on her meds. ect. Even numbers to reach my husband and doctors.  She hates to wear the necklace lately. Not fashionable I guess. Turning 8 must be the starting of fashion I guess. I know there is "Cody Cares" that sells cool bracelets. What I was wondering is how many times has anyone really needed the "Medic Alert" program’s services? My thing is this. If she is ever in an accident in the car, they can call that number and know immediately she has a medical condition. This is about 20 bucks I think every year. It is like paying insurance I guess. You know how you pay insurance on your car in case you are in an accident? I was thinking of not picking up this company again, and finding a less expensive company. If there is one out there. OR not picking it up and then picking it back up when she starts to drive. (Ugh, scary thought) Or just attaching an small information card to her seat belt. I just don’t know. Any info. would be helpful. I just received her renewal notice on Medic Alert.
