Hello, I just wanted to ask anyone if they have spoken with there local Ems about having the solu- cortef on there carts? I was talking with our local Ems this weekend and I was telling them that I have a son with CAH and they looked at me like what the heck is that? Well, I precided to tell them that if there ever was a adrenal crisis and I had given him the solu-cortef IM injection and that if I needed to call 911 and they had to coem if they carried the solu-cortef ivy drip and they looked at me and said i have no idea what that even is and all we carry is the cardiac things and I said well if i ever need you guys and you do not have that he could die I said this is very serious and the women said well ask him (which was a guy with her) and he said what are you talking about? And I said well my son is 4 and he has SWCAH and he takes meds to basically stay alive and if we ever needed you guys and i had to give him the Im injection and you needed to give him the solu-cortef drip to get him stable which has happened before but we were at a hospital where they got him stable then transfered him. But they guy said well we have detrimal or something like that I can not think of the name and he said that was like the Solu-cortef. And the ladies were like oh that is what that stuff is oh i did not know that? Hello!!! I am so nervous that they really have no idea what theyt heck i am even talking about!!!! So, I was wondering if there is a generic drug for solu-cortef? I did not think that there was only cause when my son has gone into adrenal crisis he has had the solu-cortef drip so i am just a little nervous now. I was just wondering if anyone else has asked there Local Ems? Thank you Misty and I live in Indianamisty
