I wonder about the dose of Lupron your children are receiving if they are having mood swings, acne, etc. A few times over the years we would notice Kristin started getting moody right before time for the shot and when we did her test to be sure the Lupron was at the right dose, it always seemed to be the time to up the dose. I would check on that because the Lupron should suppress all of those puberty issues if the dose is correct. My daughter’s doctor was always looking for signs like those. As for the pain issue, I would imagine any shot would hurt. We actually would put the Lupron on and cover it with a "patch" of plastic wrap and tape the edges down to make a completely occlusive bandage. After 1 hr. I would apply a little more and cover it back up. At that point it would be bedtime and Kristin would go to sleep. I actually administered the shots to her in her sleep and she would not wake up! In the morning she would comment that the spot was sore. It could be that she was so relaxed when I gave it that it was easier for her than if she had tensed up the muscle. Another thing the dr told us was to alternate which side we gave the shot on from month to month to avoid the buildup of scar tissue under the skin.kay
