Dear Alison,

What would you like to see done with the word Intersex? I imagine it wasn’t used in your presence but it is a term that the medical institutions such as Cornell and the U of Mich. and Endocrine Journals do use when it comes to CAH. Since you are doing very well would you consider sharing your story with for a start the Medical board of the Intersex Society of America or even Cornell where the Urology webpage does use CAH as being an Intersex condition.

I enjoyed your post and we are looking for a larger representation of what it means to have CAH that doesn’t devalue what others say but rather makes a much more complete picture of this condition.

Do you feel that having this done at age eight was a plus or minus?or didn’t matter much to you : )

If at all you don’t feel comfortable posting back at all or to any of my questions it’s OK but you made my night by posting. The future just might be here after years of gathering medical knowledge : ) Did you ever view your medical records? Even when I was born to see the shift in terms from 1970 to ? was interesting. I was able to read a story from someone that had CAH in the late 1950’s and the words from the doctors and the basic idea about the whole condition was very different and that was in a 15 to 20 year time period also. I like medical history : )

Do you know what type of surgery/surgeries that you had?

and I bet you are havig a ball in life.

thanks,

Aimee
