To answer your question, we are looking for images similar to the ones found in ’Endocrine Review, issue 16, page 279-281, by CA Quigley et L.’ The publishers of this paper no longer have high resolution images on file that are suitable for publication.
I realize it is a very broad question, and the only information I was given by our client McGraw Hill Higher Education, is in point form spec lists that I have to research and find photographs suitable for publication. What I received for this spec was ’a) photo of patient with androgen insensitivity syndrome, and b) photo of patient with congenital adrenal hyperplasia’

I would not submit photos that are sent to me by minors, and would need to be in contact with their parents to send them McGraw’s model release form.

To try to answer other’s questions, it is not me who will be providing usage fees, it will be McGraw Hill Higher Education. I mentioned that typical usage fee is 200 US$, however it is always possible to negotiate prices with them. It is an educational Biology Textbook however, so typically there is not much money in their photo budget.

It is not that medical establishments wouldn’t give me pictures, the responses I have received have been that they do not have pictures of that, or that is not their area of study. Other’s have mentioned people to contact, I’m still trying, that is what I meant by dead ends.

I assure you that I am ’legit’ as someone questioned. It’s for a Biology textbook to be published in 2006 by McGraw Hill Higher Education titled Brooker’s Biology. But please if you do not think I am legit, do not send photos.

I would like to thank the anonymous person who pointed me towards Dr. Maria New. Her assistant Susan Tansil has contacted me and is sending out model release forms, so hopefully that will come through.

Best,
Chris Russell
