I called Chris Russell at Pronk & Associates. He wasn’t very clear in his post above what he wanted, but I was able to get more information from him. What McGraw Hill wants is either a full body shot of a nude CAH person with ambiguous genitalia or a close up genital shot of ambiguous genitalia. I made sure he understood that if the publisher was going to imply that ambiguous genitalia was the norm for CAH, that they’d have some pretty angry people contacting them. I told him that it was suspicious that they wanted it for the reproductive section rather than their endocrinology section, and sounded a whole lot like the kind of quack medicine spouted to try to bolster certain political agendas.

He also told me that Dr. Maria New has contacted him and told him she could provide the photos they need.
