Our daughters surgery went very well. We are so thankful to have found Dr Poppas. The surgery took almost eight hours but we knew she was in good hands and all our prayers were answered. Dr Poppas is an amazing surgeon. She is recovering very well ,at three it was quite something to keep her still and have her cooperate with all the after care. She was quite agitated at times and we had a hard time getting her meds in orally once the IV came out. However everything turned out well and she is doing great.  The staff and resources at Cornell were excellent and provided very good care for our sweetheart. Recovery will still take a little more time but now that we are home and meds are reduced she is quickly getting back to her sweet little self. We have had to hide all the bikes and rocking horses for awhile so we are entertaining her with lots of new things. Another few weeks and she will be  fine. I know that we have made the right choice for her. At three she is not yet questioning what has happened and I feel not waiting for surgery any longer was definately the right choice for her.
