we knew  before we got pregnant that it is a regular procedure in medicine to recommend dex to moms with previous child with CAH.

i started taking dex when i was 6 week with my current pregnancy. we will have a cvs in two weeks (recommendation is between 10 and 12th week). based on the sex of the baby, you can stop taking dex or continue. if it is a boy, i’ll stop, if it is a girl i need to continue until i learn if the baby has CAH or not. they do a quick test to determine the sex (they call it FISH), you can learn the sex in two days. but CAH part takes a while, 4 to 6 weeks.
