Laura, CAH ...adrenal gland ...thyroid... checking of the eyes

Dear Laura,

I think it was you that posted about CAH and checking of the eyes or maybe someone else. I wanted to post that  yes my eyes were always looked at over the years and the Endos would also do the look at my fingers test as he would move them in and out of my field of vision. Looking for side effects of CAH? maybe but most likely checking for eye conditions that could be a thyroid red flag . I have Hashimoto’s thyroditis Diease (chronic thyroditis) that is a very common genetic occurrence picked up by blood work. This something that is monitored for along time before med. is even considered. I had a lot of throat grabbing by the Endo and the one resident did ask me specific thyroid questions. Mostly they don’t treat forthis because the thyroid does go "normal" but it also goes hypo which isn’t any fun and does have some ofthe same physical symptoms that I read here about CAH. I don’t know if the hashi has something to do with hyperthyroid either but sometimes I’ll see a post from someone and those symtoms match also. Plus on the LOCAH board that someones Dad was getting checked for Lupus ..for me this was like .....hummm because I have Celiac Sprue also which is to put it a fun way : ) the protein gluten found in wheat products and other things attacks (doesn’t like) the villi in your intestines which makes them go flat and thus limits the amount of actual nutients one actually is getting in regardless of how much good food they consume. I was scanning a Hashimoto thyroid board that mentioned adrenal gland issues and CAH locah was brought up a couple of times. Plus it mentioned Addision’s Disease, lupus and a couple more. This stuff could be something or nothing but I don’t feel right not bringing it to your attention for one more thing to add to your list. Like you knowledge is power with the guidance of the Endo : )

I’ve always wondered how CAH connects to other conditions  : ) and what the adrenal gland is" guilty of" and what it isn’t.
