I am sooo glad he is doing better! Something similar happened to my daughter. The only advance warning was ONE small bout of diarrhea the night before. That is it. She also didn’t wake up in the am at her normal time. When I finally roused her she couldn’t stand and collapsed in my arms. She couldn’t see straight. We immediately gave her the shot and pedialytes and she came round. It is so scary when it comes out of seemingly nowhere. I ask this with good intention, has your wife been trained on how to give the shot? Fifteen minutes is too long to wait when our children are that sick. I used oranges to practice on to feel more comfortable giving the shot. When our children are this sick, as you stated they don’t even feel the needle. Take care. Julia
