I’m not sure but I think that your son must have late onset CAH and / or precocious puberty.  I find it odd that the doctor would have him report to the ER for either of those conditions.  Please someone correct me if I’m wrong, but if he hasn’t been treated for CAH before, his adrenal glands are functioning if perhaps not 100%, and he wouldn’t go into adrenal crisis and especially if his only symptom is that he is a little pale.   You should seek treatment but the worst case scenario now would be early puberty and loss of height.  And these things don’t happen overnight.  You can wait a week or so for lab results!  So don’t worry!
