re: 17-ohp results

Hi Natalie. Did you consider that Circadian method? That is my plan if my daughter starts to gain too much weight as she approaches puberty. My daughter will be eight in a couple of weeks. We had her testosterone levels checked too and they were good thus far. I think I am going to request that test be done from here on out just to keep somewhat of an eye to try and hoard off early puberty. Does your daughter show any signs of it? Man that is high for test. levels if it should be around 25. What does your endo. say about this? I think the amount of meds. given depends on the height and weight of the child and then mixed that in with their bloodwork levels to determine what they need. My daughter is 61 lbs., her CAH is due to the 21 hydroxylase deficiency (salt waster) and she is presently on 12.5 mg of Cortef a day with the one pill of Florinef a day. (we give one half pill of Florinef when she wakes up and the other half at night.) We just had her bloodwork results in last week and all seems to be in good control. I would like to see my daughter’s weight drop a little more and I would be satisfied. Let us know how she is doing. Did the endo. suggest adding more or changing to Dex.? One of my many questions I will be taking to my daughter’s endo. is what happens to OHP levels, renin levels and all the rest as puberty starts. Will these change? I wonder if that is happening to your daughter. All these questions. Take care.
