I am constantly wondering the exact same thing about my SWCAH 6-month old.  Right now, he’s been coughing really hard every morning and at night. He’s also been pulling on his ear. Took to the the ped and she said it was ’viral’  so I just get to watch over him for fever or lethagy ....and worry.   He seems pretty happy though! I give the HC at 6:30 a.m. 2:30 p.m. 10:30 p.m.  We always go right back to sleep till about 7:30-8 after the 6 a.m. dose and he usually falls asleep around 9 p.m. Thank goodness he seems to be able to sleep through taking his HC!
