Thanks Cheryl for your response.  My son sounds very similar.  He hasn’t attempted suicide but was suicidal and hospitalized for a week a few years ago.  Also this past winter, he was under an enormous amount of stress, and was also a victim of being mistreated by schoolmates, etc.  My husband and I also tried not to send him money so he would learn to keep his job.  What does he do - he steals money from his roommates and gets caught!  So not only do I worry about the suicide, I know worry about him stealing.  It is really scray.  I also nurture too much and need to do more tough love.  He does need to grow up and learn he can’t always get his way.  He is very opinionated and does not like to compromise.  So I guess I am looking for answers and maybe I will feel better if the CAH was the cause.  But maybe not.  He is going therapy and taking meds to help with the depression.  He said the depression made him steal and he did suffer some consequences that were humilitating.  So I hope he learned his lesson.  One day at a time!
