Feel free to think away and let us know if you come up with something that you think is going to work for everyone.

My son is 10  yrs old now and no matter where he goes or who he is with, he has a medical alert letter and a vial of emergency injection as well as gatorade.

He is almost always with either my husband or I at functions and the school nurses have his files flagged already.  They also agreed that they should call me first before we call 911.

On the rare occassion that we go out without him, his grandmother, a retired nurse, knows exactly what to do. In addition, everyone he stays with knows what steps to take or how to reach us.  We also check in regularly.

Until I can be sure that the 911 system has drastically improved I will continue the way we have been.

You should also know that ON-STAR (which is a mechanism attached to your car) can be given instructions as to who to call and what to do if we push the button or if it goes off by itself.  That would be a type of "red flag" I would think?

Good luck to all,

Lynn

I am sending them a copy of all my directions for their files.
