SandraHi Tammi,
From my understanding a CVS alone will not tell you if your child has CAH. What they do is take the cells and then do the test for the Chromosomes etc.... To test for CAH most will send it out to a lab that is capable of doing so. It sounds like your lab does not do the tests for CAH. I would do the CVS and then send one of the samples to a lab that does testing for CAH so they can grow the sample and test it.
I have 4 boys and my youngest two have CAH. I had a CVS done with my 4th and the chromosomes all came back fine within 2 weeks. I had to wait another two weeks while the lab at Dr. New’s checked for CAH. My 3rd son, my husband and myself had already had DNA testing to see what mutations we carried.
Good luck,
Sandra
