My 5 year old daughter also has ambiguous genitalia. Her labia are fused and she has an enlarged clitoris. She has never had a urinary tract infection (knock on wood) so we have had no medical reason to have surgery. She is well adjusted and happy with herself. When she is standing up she looks like most other little girls with her clitoris just peeking out. When she is sitting or bearing down for a bowel movement her clitoris shows it’s true size and it is rather large. Her function is intact and she has all her sensation and is all right with herself. Before puberty she will require surgery to unfuse the labia to allow for menstruation. Later she will be able to decide if she wants surgery on her clitoris. With all that being said, her clitoris has in fact gotten larger from since she was born. Relative to body size it has stayed the same but it has grown just like any other part of her body. I know how hard this is to bear but our daughters can grow up very content and happy and do all the things other girls can do. Take care, JuliaJulia S
