Not giving the proper name "Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia"  is not hiding her condition or hiding it because of shamefullness. There is nothing to be shameful about having CAH or Diabetes, cancer, or any other disease. But as someone mentioned on this post, too much information can be blown out of porportion to a lay person that is not familiar with the technicals of the disease. My motto is leave it light to the general public, and inform to those who are in their care.  I have noticed even with close friends that do know what the name of her disease is, they tend to caudle my daughter and ask if she has a special diet ect. Those are the ones I think I should have kept it light to. I want her treated like any other human being. But I also think, in the end it is up to that individual how much info. you do want out there.  Just like with anything personal in anyone’s personal life. But I strongly belived that by NOT telling everyone that comes into my child’s life that she has Congenital Adrenal Hyperplasia isn’t hiding anything. I feel it is just keeping things simple.  I have a coworker that I didn’t know had diabetes until recently. He has never hid anything from me, it was a way of life he just lives with. Keepin’ it simple I guess.
