re: appetite in carriers

Very interesting! ... as of now, I’m waiting to see a specialist for high cortisol levels (I’m a carrier with a SW daughter). I have several symptoms of Cushings disease and high cortisol levels, including excess weight mostly in the abdominal area. I’ve also been doing some reading about the correlation between high cortisol levels, and depression/panic disorders: I find it interesting that there is now a theory that people with panic disorders may have a defective "flight or fight" response, and particularily in the "suffocation response". Evidently, these people’s cortisol levels suddenly go up for some unknown reason, and they feel like they’re suffocating, so they panic!! (and who wouldn’t panic if you thought you were suffocating!). I’ve had panic attacks in the past, too, so am interested to see if there’s any connection between being a CAH carrier, having too high cortisol levels/belly fat, and having panic disorder. Let us know if you find out anything! God’s blessings,

Wendy-Lee
