I gave myself an injection of solu-cortef last year when I realised that I was having a crisis (had started on new meds for arthritis but they weren’t agreeing with me subsequently went off them) however I’m usually too far gone to do this and my Mum (who lives with me will not do it) usually rings my local Doctor to give it and then I sometimes head for the ED depending on how bad things are. I spoke to a couple of friends who are nurses and they commented on how brave I was to do it because they themselves couldn’t do it.  I really think that it depends on the child themselves and how mature they are.
