Both my SW CAH boys had tubes,  I think two sets each?  Anyway I think it helped,  they still had lots of ear infections.  My youngest had his adnoids and tonsils out too and that really helped him.  My boys are 6 and 9 and are very healthy now,  the little one will still get an ear infection every once in a while, maybe once a year.  He used to have a chronic runny nose and ear infection.
