Cherry LaneJoanne,
This is EXACTLY why I had and thought it was best for my granddaughter ( who we are raising) needed to have the surgery plus there were medical problems. The combination of the both helped us make our decision that surgery was in her best interest mentally , physically. She had the surgeryat 13 months and we have had no problems since. Surgery is not for everyone and it is the most debated issue about CAH. There are pro’s and con’s to both. Talk to your Dr. and listen to your inner mother instincts and you will KNOW what to do when you need to do it. I am not an expert in the knowledge of CAH ...but have read that if the medication is not right that the female can become more male looking (growth of clitorius). Call your Dr. and tell him you are concerned and have her seen ASAP........ just to make sure she is in no pain . RESEARCH .....RESEARCH....RESEARCH. You will get lots of opinions on this board some for and some against the surgery. Bottom line do what you need to do for YOUR childs comfort and health.
Sincerely Cherry Lane
