just to clarify--we have been having issues with florinef lately too--a high renin does not mean too little salt, but more like not the proper ability to retain the salt. there is a difference. for example, my son had a very LOW renin --so we decreased his florinef--but still had a LOW sodium. therefore, we increased his salt intake. when the florinef dose is too high, we have seen low renins and high blood pressure. all of this was a huge shock to us seeing as when he was a baby he was on .3 mgs per day and still had salt wasting tendencies. now that he is 19 months, he is just on .025mg and that is still proving to be too much. hope this helps!louise
