ToniaDebbie,
Potty training is never fun! Our 9 year old was a nightmare to potty train! There were some control and behavioral issues as well as some physical issues. Her 2 biggest problems were she was not (& still doesn’t) concentrate urine properly so she has to go more than she should and constipation due to cortef. She has been on a high fiber, high water diet for years now and it seems to help during the day. When she is constipated her bowels push on her bladder and cause trouble. She still wets the bed at night sometimes despite our constant effort to empty her bladder. It seems like it’s never empty. You can imagine at this age, she is quite embarrassed about it but we never make her feel bad.
Potty training is different for everyone - CAH or not. Our 7 year old ssw cah daughter was potty trained at 1 1/2. Thanks to no effort on our part. She simply announced that she would be wearing panties now and that was pretty much it. Only a few accidents. I will say though that she never had surgery and her older sister did. That may have something to do with it.
Best of luck to you! Just keep patient and loving. If something doesn’t feel right, keep asking the urologist.
