Good info for those that carry a cell phone

I was reading our community newsletter this month and it had an interesting article that follows:

ICE- In Case of Emergency

Putting ICE along wiht a name and telephone number will enable the emergency services to contact your family in the event of an emergency.  Very few people carry next of kin details with them anymore.  Yet almost everyone has a mobile phone, most of whom have it with them all the time.  There is no simpler way of letting the emergency services know who to contact should you be involved in an accident than by using ICE.

Standing for IN CASE OF EMERGENCY, ICE will allow ambulance crews, fire and police officers to quickly contact a nominated person who can be infomred of the incident.  You would store the word "ICE" in your cell phone’s address book and against this enter the number of the person you would want contacted "In Case of Emergency."

In an emergency, Paramedics, Firefighters, Law Enforcement Officers and Hospital staff will be able to quickly find out who your next of kin are and be able to contact them.  This will be very helpful to emergency workers.

Example: ICE-Name of person/MOM/etc (555) 555-5555, etc. For more than one contact name use: ICE-1, ICE-2, ICE-3 etc...

Have you stored "ICE" in your cell phone?

Go to www.icecontact.com/index.html for more information.

Thought it would be a good idea to do. I will put it on my phone in case something happens while I’m out alone or with the kids. Just thought I would share it.
