I hope you can see the effort they put into learning about CAH. They might not of done or said the right things but they did their best and they cry too.

How I wish that was true - there are very few doctors who really care, to 95% you are just a number.  I agree that there are some that have done their best but how many haven’t and still not do so today.  Look at some who have lost children on this board because their doctors thought they are overreacting, how many have children have lost height, how many are overweight, yet told it is nothing to do with medication.  How many have been rude to parents, how many of us have had to fight to get them to listen......... Some doctors treat CAH as if it is nothing, just a missing enzyme, which needs to be replaced.  It is their job to learn and do their best.  We as parents are doing the learning and teaching them, we need people to speak out

I know you are being positive - and I do sincerely wish your words were true, I know my son’s doctor wouldn’t bat an eyelid if we changed doctors tomorrow.

Good luck.  At least this doctor has agreed to see you, of course he will tell you he was doing what he thought was best at the time, however sensitivity and kindness from nursing staff, and patients no matter how old with CAH being treated with respect, would save a lot of hurt and emotional problems in later years. We know doctors are human and do not have all the answers, but they need to be honest, not arrogant.
