AimeeHey Misty,
I was born with a heart murmur and had asthma around age 3 -5 years old but I have simple-virilizing CAH. The heart murmur hasn’t ever bothered me Knock on wood and maybe just something that happens? - not CAH related?
I was a fairly active kid w/ horseback riding, ice skating, swimming and active in my 20’s with physical jobs plus lots of dancing.
Had a EKG around age 31 and the GP sent me to a cardiologist that told me I had a slow normal heart beat. I think that the undiagnosed at the time hashimoto’s thyroditis had something to do with the slow heart beat.
Last year after fainting twice from blood loss (cancer related) I had what I would guess is an echo? Another cardiologist ordered a test where the tech came in and basically seemed like an ultrasound but it was of the heart area. It was really neat to see a picture of my heart come up on the monitor and this cardiologist thought everything was fine too.
I never would of known about the heart murmur if I hadn’t acquired my records : )
I hope everything works out for your son.
Aimee
