My son is four and he has had 2 broken arms.  What luck!  The first one we waited until we got to the emergency room for the shot, but we did stress dose him at home then it was an hour drive to the hospital.  He was fine, but we went ahead and gave the shot in the ER just to be safe.  The next one we immediatly gave the shot, and again all was fine.
