My husband noticed our daughters BO right after birth.  He had to convince others it was there.  I think they were afaid to say they smelled it.  It was horrible!!  We started using a baby cologne,  I think Johnson and Johnson brand.  It covered it up for awhile.  She is now 2 months old and it is almost completely gone.  Our doctors said that when her meds got her levels straightened out that it would go away.  But you are right, it was like a stinky old man.
