Hi Ladies,

Looks like Houston escaped the worst part of it as the storm moved east over to poor Louisiana. We did not evacuate because we were worried that we would end up with dehydrated kids in an overheated or out of gas car. Looks like we made the right decision...at least with what we know now. I had a friend that left for Dallas and it took her 12 hours! That was just crazy!  Evacuating 2.7 million people though is not easy. That is how many are saying that left!

So far we just have rain and gusty winds in my area but we didn’t even loose electricity.  That is unbelievable considering that with any little storm we usually lose power! Anyway, I hope everyone in Rita’s path was safe and I’m glad that the worst is hopefully over at least for the area I’m in.
