M.RWe arrived back in Victoria and it was 102 with a heat index of 110. No rain here either since Rita took that turn (thank God). But we sure could’ve used some of that rain. It did rain up at my moms, power went out a few times amd branches were everywhere. But nothing too bad. By the time our city’s mandatory evacuation had been changed to a voluntary we already had half the house loaded up. So we went ahead and left. Everyone said that if Rita could change her mind and make a right turn, then she could change it again and make a left.
My SIL in Houston said it smelled like gas in their area and that there was barely any food in the stores. They didn’t get any rain either, just a lot of wind. This has all been so crazy and emotionally draining.
Sandra I’m glad you and your family are okay, you did right by staying put. Take care......pray for winter to come early...we need it!!!
