India is still lagging behind in developing an effective support group to help the needy CAH patient. However, a pilot newborn screening trial of 18,000 babies carried out in India in 2000 demonstrated an incidence rate of CAH of 1:2,575 which is significantly higher than the 1:15,000 babies quoted for many
countries of the world. This example shows how much critical situation of CAH in
India specially when our country is one of the most populated country in the
>world. Hence there is a dire need to develop a support group in India for
such patients to educate them how to keep balance in life with CAH(how to
manage adrenal crises), easy accessibility of specialized doctors, free
medication to poor and needy patients(these medicines are somewhat costiler and
