MichelleThis is the first time I have ever posted a message, so I apologize if I am doing something wrong. My daughter started getting hair in her pubic area when she was 2yrs old. At that time the doctors did some testing of certain hormone levels. Once the results came back, she was referred to an endocronologist. After meeting with the specialist he pretty much wrote it off as a genetic thing. Either my husband or myself came from hairy families. At the time he said what I wanted to hear so I left it at that. Now, my daughter is 4 and recently had her well visit. Upon the doctor performing her physical she realized that my daughter did in fact have more hair in the pubic area. Once again we had her hormone levels checked. This time her DHEA-S was 114, Testosterone serum was 27, DHEA was 274, and 17-OHP was 30. What does this all mean????? We are waiting to hear from the Endo doctor to see weather or not he feels that she should be seen again. My daughters primary doctor feels that we should get a second opinion. My head is spinning. I think that maybe it isn’t CAH because her growth rate is great and her 17-OHP is in normal range. I just wonder if anyone has been through this. Thanks
