I had the same problem with one of my SW CAH  boys-  I use the tough love approach.  I put him in timeout until he would take it-  I am not really the kind for a rewards chart,  I always forget to do it.  Both my boys take their meds very nicely at 6 and 9 years old.  I figure you can’t monkey around with medication.
