Carol M.Hi Megan,
On page 114, you will find a table that shows how to convert height and weight from English to international units, and vice versa.
And on page 126, there is a similar table that shows how to convert between the two systems when talking about units of the most common adrenal hormones.
Page 127 also gives a table that shows common numerical prefixes, along with their associated values, just in case you come across something in really unusual units---which does seem to happen once in a while.
Granted, you do need to be able to multiply in order to convert from one system to another, but we tried to make this simple by giving examples of how to do this. (At least, we didn’t make you have to divide...LOL!!!)
I think your point is well taken, however, and "next time" maybe it would also be helpful to add a column in the tables on pgs. 123-124 that show the units already converted to International units...great idea! For now, alas, one does need to do just a teensy bit of math....sorry!
However, never let it be said that we purposefully ignored the needs of our International friends...what we have may not be absolutely perfect, but we did definitely try to take into account the fact that much of the world uses a different system of measuring! (This is said with a smile!)
Carol
P. S. I tried to write you a while ago, but my email was returned with an "undeliverable" error message. If you have a new email, pls drop me a line when you get the chance....hope all is well!
