The Conference was fantastic!  Kelly & staff did a wonderful job.  Kelly talked about what Cares has accomplished in such a short time. About the grants they were able to give and how the membership & support groups have grown. She gave a really great speech about how Cares was all of ours and we need to support Cares in anyway we can!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The team of Dr.’s & researcher’s touched on great topics.  They are doing some studies. One was to help with the growth.  Also they are trying to develope new medicine. They explained how clostly it was & about how the drug industry needs to make millions off of a new drug before they will even consider. Its all about money to the gov’t. Also CAH was not as wide spread as say diabetis so it is much harder. Will take lots of time & money.

There were a panel of adults discussing there life with CAH and questions & answers followed with them. That was very informative. Also they talked about the schools, emergency situations, giving the shots, medical id bracelets.  Also the kids got to meet one another that was great for mine. They also talked about blocking the ATCH with a drug called amlophine.  This would be better control of CAH. They talked about the cortef issues. THey also discussed in a study they did with exercise. They found that doubling or tripling the doses didn’t make that much of a difference with the ones that they didn’t.

Dr. New discussed about the cure for CAH. Moving the bad gene & replacing it with a normal one. ALso about giving one injection a year???????? She hopes to develop something within her lifetime. (me too).

There was so much I can’t begin to tell you. All in the medical staff was great!!!!!
