I am so happy that we have the freedom to voice our opinions on the pros and cons of THE SURGERY....... One would have to assume that medical technology has GREATLY improved from the 50s........ gall bladder surgery you are no longer sliced open , but it is done laproscopy. Tonsillectomy’s were once the RAGE in 1950’s and today they are not done very often. Hysterectomy once cut open ...now lap and vaginal. Looking at the progress of modern technology ... one must assume that the surgeries to day are much more advanced than yesteryear. For the sake of all the children that have had them lets ceratinly hope so. My granddaughter is well and thriving after her surgery at 13 months..... no physical exams and no mention of dilation procedures. We will cross that bridge when we come to it and PRAY that technology has even further improved !Cherry Lane
