aimeeI indeed agree that results should be better : ) one would hope so lol really : )
The results of my time period were excellent.
I was curious about the mention of the need for dialation on the current CAH/ Urology WEB site from Cornell that also talks of CAH as Intersex along with sites from Penn University.
I got thinking about micro surgery and the like Plus that it is neat that The Top Docs don’t recomend clitoral reduction until the person thart owns the body wants it ; ) but are more interested in helping someone born like me where who the heck knew externally what gender I was : )
No surgery is perfect and side effects are normal consequences for any surgery then or now.
What is scary about all this is when people do not bring up that each case is different meaning for example the internally where the vaginal actually is : ) I imagine for some back then dialation wasn’t necessary either or that one kids surgery might of been easy than the other because of the degree of virilization. One might of been a minor buff and paint and another a whole over haul : ) those with less virilization can wait the ten years and should in my opinion : )
This was another thing that I was thinking ..thunking about ...I have fun with this- I’m very petite ..a really small women ... Lab rats are small and mean : ) A joke from a medical dude that had way to much to drink anyway Ones own anatomy is going to always play a role in the outcome.
I overheard two doctors (one tall & another short) talking with another one and they go to the third guy - thank you for having faith in us. This for us is all about faith and THE GOD given talent of the doctor. On a fun note the tall and short dooctr walked toward me and the tall one gives me a big smile and goes to me motioning to the short one - this is my son. The short one gave him a look and then smiled at me. Off they swooped in the surgeon robes to practice their craft that is bulit from the past.
Ok speaking of degrees ...not degrees of virilization But .....
Keven Bacon ...it seems that there are lots of other stars that are seven degrees from Kevin Bacon with the people that they have dated.
Anyway , I like that there are a particular group of doctors that are interested in helping us and are on board with the caresfoundation. One ofthese days I would love to go to Dr.Poppas for an upgrade ...See a broadway show and have a labia minor put in ? Why not ? something fun : )
But there are other surgeons at other institutions that also are skilled and have had lots of practice like at the U of MICH.
Cherry, I wrote the above thinking about what you said in another post which was how you are confident about where you daughter went.
It’s not about so much the surgery : ) Parents are goingto get it when they feel the kid needs it : ) but excessive adrogens? just give extra support with some things Ok?
I’m always told how pretty my hazel eyes are but I don’t feel that way ..My hair is the right way brown w/ blond highlights... i pick the right clothes/ shoes I don’t know it’s hard to descride but I’ve talked with women that had more virilization and they get it... please just don’t think surgery looks good that’s that unless that happens to be your kid. I had the opportunity to talk with a parent that went to a group meeting (nothing to do with cares) and she told me about a presenter that had CAH and what and how she talked whereas I talked with the same person later and the conversation and feelings about the same subject was a 180 degree different- I wish those parents who heard her presentation could of also heard our conversation. I’ve talked with others also (nothing to do with cares) and it’s such a front some put on....gosh you look at a diabetes magazine or talk with those that have cancer and it’s real..warm ..fears are ok to express along with differences of opinion...everyone feels welcomed .....it’s not canned.
