Are there other benefits for having a true genetic diagnosis, other than for pre-natal diagnosis in future pregnancies?

Our son has SWCAH and has responded well to treatment, no growth or other secondary issues yet (fingers crossed!), and we were just wondering what other benefit would come from having genetic testing done, as we will have to foot the entire bill.  Our insurance has denied our original request and two appeals, so we’ve exhausted that avenue.
