Our son was born in March with salt-wasting CAH.  His endocrinologist has told us that he will be on florinef his entire life, though dosages may change.  HOWEVER, we were able to discontinue giving him the extra salt months ago after checking his electrolytes (they checked them before they took him off of it and then we had labs drawn again 3 days after we discontinued the salt to make sure he was stable).  All has been fine.  We live in Wisconsin, and from what our Dr. tells us, this is typical to take children off of the extra salt soon after birth.
