Surely they are not seriously thinking of an adrenalectomy at the age of 3 for a boy? I would question this. The dex should lower his levels.  What is his dose now? How many times a day does he take his meds? Could he be metabolising them quickly? what were his results? What time of day were the tests done? How long after before his tablets? What are his testosterone levels and his androstedione levels? ACTH? Renin? My advice to you is to write an email or letter to your son’s doctor and ask him these questions, numbered.
