My daughter (10years SWCAH) was 5 years old when she was put on the dex.  Her levels were out of control and no matter how much Cortef we gave her the levels would not co-operate.

Since then her levels have been fine.  We just recently lowered her dosage because we felt she was being oversuppressed and the endo finally agreed.  The dex is extremely powerful compared to the Cortef and it only takes a small amount of it compared to the Cortef.  Just keep an eye on your child’s height and weight.  A side effect of it is increased appetite and weight gain.
